Hi everyone,
Can anyone help with this...
On my 96 s320, the antenna only goes 3/4 down (it's angles back 30degrees) when the radio is off.
As a newer owner...I noticed the the S500 (it's angled perp. to the ground) antenna goes all the way down is there something wrong with my car?

The fender mounted antenna is on a angle with the fender, perhaps it is bent and therefore can not retract thru the chrome nut. The suggested replacement is to remove the nut turn on the radio and it will eject the shaft and the toothed winder. The replacement is in reverse, turn off the radio insert the winder untill it is captured and let it wind in. I have found that the easiest way is to have someone turn off the ignition which stops it, feed in the shaft and start the nut and then let it go all the way.
or see if you can find the kink in the shaft

Seems pretty basic DIY.
