420SEL 1987 Expansion Valve Location

Hello,

Does anyone know the location of the expansion valve for the air conditioning system? I believe it lies near the ABS box, but i do not know what it looks like. The car is a 1987 420SEL (chassis 126). If possible, an attached photo will be greatly appreciated.

i dont have a photo readily available but MBZ expansion valves can be found in either above your gas pedal next to the fan assembly or inside the engine compartment, follow the low pressure hose(big one) and it should right before the firewall under windshield.

it is a bright aluminum color with a small hose and a large hose attached by a single screw in the middle. after you remove the retainer that holds the hoses, you will have to remove the remaining screws to seperate the expansion valve from the evaporator unit.
