Hi Folks,
A colleague of mine owns a 1972 SL and is experiencing problems with the automatic transmission.
I was hoping someone may be able to offer some advice.
The owner fitted a rebuilt transmission and now the transmission seems to hang on in first gear (or second-he is unsure) once it has down changed from top gear.
The transmission up-changes beautifully from a standing start throughout all four gears, but when slowing down (not coming to a COMPLETE stop) and accelerating away again, the transmission changes down and hangs on, reving out to about 4000rpm before changing up to the next gear.
Has anybody ever experienced this problem and are able to advise me on what to check?

you need to adjust the boden cable
