Hi Steve,
I have a 1993 190e 2.6 that just turned 199K miles. I am sure most parts are original and I love my car. Reverse started slipping and now it barely works at all. Going forward is no problem (!), but my mechanic (who I trust) says I need a new transmission. He doesnt want to use a rebuilt, says you dont know what you get, and that the majority of the cost (he is quoting $2000 up) is labor ($99/hr). A good freiend who knows plenty about cars says go with a rebuilt. What to do? Where to go? Is AAMCO a good choice?
Thanks

personally i would get a reman trans from the dealer, it has a 24 month unlimited warranty, if anything goes wrong they should warranty it

I hope you can help! I just received a 1988 300E as a gift. I've had it one day, runs great. My problem is that I must have accidentally pushed something, I don't know what, but the headlights and tail lights start flashing if the door is opened, goes on for about a minute or so. My first thought was an alarm, but the horn doesn't sound off. any thoughts? Thanks so much!

I have a question please. I just got a 2001 SLK320. It does not have heated seats. Does Mercedes do like other manufacturers and build the car with the heaters already installed in the seate, but just not hooked up if you don't get them as an option?

Hi Steven,
your going to be a busy lad i tell you.
Here my problem for you.
I have a c180 coupe 2ltr.
The engine light is on.
The Merc garage said it was the ECU costin870+vat.
A local machanic reset the light and said it was a camshaft sensor.
The light has now come back on. The car performs poorly at 2500 rpm.
My Question:
Should i just buy a camshaft sensor and replace it myself for about 200 euro. Do i need a laptop to reset the ECU afterwards or will it sort itself out once i plug in the new one.
Or does any know a good place to leave my car into so i can have it fixed professional and not be took for a ride ?? dublin kildare area
thanks
