I've had my '04 C240 4Matic for a month now, I love this car. Could have more HP, but who needs it. I ordered mine with the comfort & sunroof package plus the CD changer. I would pass on the xenon, the lights are plenty on the car, if you really need to, you can swipe out the bulbs later.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Yeah, like a $2,000 swap, plus the bulbs. Are you talking HID, or just those blue-tinted-doofus-wannabe $10 bulbs that kids put on their mom's Honda Civic and make it so she can't see the road at night?
And what kind of man are you saying you don't need more hp? Sheesh! Grow up, man. Get more power. Errr, you are a man, right?
I think Al died and went to Shelbyland and is driving a Cobra now. He hasn't visited since 12/1/03 and he opened this thread on 10/19/03. What ya think? Regardless, he made up his mind long ago I'm sure.
I'm here, I'm here... We bought a 02 c320.. we love the car... I would love to put some 17"s on it...Cobra land.. yea baby , thats me... this is MY baby
cool. oh, man. gaaah.
Talk to me about it. Is it a real one? Did you build it? What running gear does it have?
I almost bought a '65 replica last fall. It was built by a NASCAR mechanic. The thing had a 351W putting out 750 naturally aspirated ponies, or so goes the claim. If true, the NASCAR mechanic put a NASCAR motor in it. Only problem was, the seller wanted $49,500. Since most replicas go for about for between $25K-$30K around here, the guy was asking the rest for just the motor. It shook the earth when it was running, though.
Very nice work. Very nice indeed.
And sorry I buried you, man. Just shake off the dirt. No one will notice.
j233x,
I'm just yankin' your chain, noob dood. I'm too lazy to use the smilie thingies so it's hard to tell sometime that I'm just funnin'. Sorry if I yanked too hard.
Lugnut
No biggie lugnut. Just prepare for my comments when I respond back to something you say.
In regards to my HP comment, it would be great to have a RWD beast of a car, but when I live in a state that actually has significant snowfall, its not something I need right now. Maybe in a few years.
Let me have it. I welcome any response. Any. Responses are few and far between around here. Just be easy. I'm easily hurt and I wear glasses.
I grew up and learned to drive in Northern Utah before the days of front-wheel drive, and California Rolls and Starbucks. Annual snowfall in the mountains was +30 feet. Many roads were routinely closed at the first snowfall each winter. The DOT knew the plows couldn't keep up with the snowfall and would actually create avalanche conditions, so only the main roads were kept open. I didn't buy my first four-wheel drive vehicle until a couple of years before I moved away when I was 30. I drove cars like a '66 Corvette and '66 GTO (both manual 4-speed) year round to work and I always wanted more power. That was a different era, I suppose.
Did I mention I trudged through four feet of snow for 30 miles to get to school every day? And all the roads going and coming were uphill, too.
Some advice from the heart: Don't use those "trick" bulbs. They really do produce less light. They look blue or whiter to oncoming cars by filtering certain colors from the beam. Those filtered colors can be used by your eyes to see the road. Since they are not present in the beam, there is less light.
Cool Cobra, eh?
Wow!, that is one heck of a cobra dude!. Congrats!
(my hobby does not look even close to that.)
