HOW CAN I LOCATE THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSIDE THE PETROL TANK AND HOW CAN I REPLACE IT. WHAT IS THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR THIS SENSOR?

under the rear seat. you got two, left and right. the right side got the fuel pump as well.

right is 140 euro
left is 181 euro

the left one is more expensive because the mounting plate is included.

DEAR SLEEPWALKER,

FROM THE ATTACHMENT, I SEE THAT YOU REFER TO C180 AFTER AUGUST 2000. MINE, IS BEFORE AUGUST 2000. BUT I CHECKED ACCORDING TO YOUR INSTRUCTION WITHOUT LOCATING THE GAUGES. NOW THAT YOU ARE SAYING THAT THERE TWO GAUGES I HAVE TO SAY THAT ALL THE FAULTS ARE MAINLY APPEARED WHEN TANK IS FULL. IS ONE OF THE TWO GAUGES RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT? WHERE THESE GAUGES ARE LOCATED?

202 470 39 41 left side with pump... $63
208 470 10 41 right side without pump... $77

you can see it from under the car.

look at the contacts. sometimes it is not touching the variable resistor plate. bend it to get a good contact, and you don't need a new sensor.

SLEEPWALKER, THANKS A LOT!

DOES ANYONE KNOW, WHICH SENDING UNIT (RIGHT OR LEFT) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAULT, HAVING IN MIND THAT THE FAULT IS MAINLY APPEARED WHEN THE TANK IS FULL?

you have to remove them both to do a visual check.

any way ,i just replace both at the same times ,i see the old one at the resistors are bad .
the gauge have to be one tank empty and the other function .so...the best way change it at the same times .
for my opinon is the factory error parts.because fuel gauge resistor cant be that easy to break down.......
